In 2008, WA Children can be involved in providing Bible Back Packs for the Children of CAMBODIA.
Cambodia has had much trouble in the past with a terrible leader who did not treat his people well. Many Millions of people were hurt or killed.
The country is still trying to recoverfrom this time, and many people including children are very poor.
For the Children's project this year, Bible Society and GAiN will be giving out Bible Backpacks to kid's in CAmbodia. THese Bible Backpacks are a way to give kid's in Cambodia a helping hand - inside and out. You can help raise money so more kid's can recieve these backpacks.
GAiN have been working in various South-East Asian Countries providing medical clinincs for people living there - this means check ups, surgery or just whatever is needed, including pryaer or telling them about Jesus!
In the backpacks will be a Bible in their own language, a towel, face washer, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, talcum powder, shampoo, pens, pencils and an exercise book.
Many kid's in Cambodia don't have access to these things so they are a great practical gift.
To help get your group involved in providing these backpacks, Bible Society can you with all the resources you need;
* A Leaders Guide containing ideas for Fundraising
* A FREE promotional DVD or a video to borrow
* A3 Posters and Zing-Zine Magazines which are the workbooks fior the project.
* Every group that signs up to be involved gets one magazine free for each child involved.
