Bible Society supports the work of chaplains in their strategic ministries by providing Scripture material free of charge. Grants like these make a profound difference to chaplains and those they care for.
God’s Word offers a life-line for hospital chaplains as they minister to patients and their families in times of suffering, and sustain staff during emergencies or in critical care wards where they deal with trauma, grief and loss.
Jonathan Boyle, chaplain at Nepean Hospital, says limited financial resources mean there would be no Bibles in the hospital’s chapel if the Bible Society didn’t supply them. He uses these to read with patients and their relatives. He also displays tracts, New Testaments and other resources provided by the Bible Society on a stand outside the chapel, resultingin many opportunities to reach people with the Gospel.
Prison chaplains, too, appreciate being able to freely distribute Scriptures donated by Bible Society supporters, and the gratitude of those who receive them is overwhelming.
Bible Society also provides Grants for SRE Teachers to enable their classes to have access to Class sets of Bibles as well as Bibles to give away to children.
