South Pacific - Kid's Games
In the South Pacific, Bible Society WA is a vital player in an exciting initiative that uses fun and games to connect children with the Gospel.

Kids Games use traditional sports or new competitive activities to unite communities and share Biblical stories, values and messages with children in a unique, creative way. Kids Games also provide the opportunity to freely distribute thousands of Scriptures to participating children and their families.

Over a 3-year period from 2008, children will take part in multiple Kids Games in six South Pacific countries - Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and PNG. Kids Fun Clubs will also be created as part of a follow-up program to help kids continue to grow spiritually.

Bible Society WA will supply Scriptures to be handed out at the end of each event. Plans are also underway to take a team of students from Australian schools to Fiji to help run a Kids Games there.

In 2007, 3,000 Bible books were distributed free of charge to the kids of Fiji.

More than 550 children from eight churches participated in Suva’s Kids Games in May 2007.
“Some of the children were so interested in the Scriptures they received that they spent most of their time the following day just reading them!” said Bible Society’s Mission Officer, Seremaia Rareba. “Altogether, 30 children gave their lives to the Lord.”
