Australia - Sports DVD (Tax Deductible)
Bible Society is using Aussies’ love of sport to help them engage with God’s Word.
A cutting-edge DVD containing interviews and testimonies with 11 Christian sportsmen and women is being produced to accompany a fresh Sports New Testament to be published by Bible Society. Bible Society will produce a testimony card that each athlete can use for signing autographs.
The Apostle Paul used many analogies from sport to encourage the early Christians to ‘run the race’ (1 Cor 9:24) and ‘press on for the goal’ (Phil 3:14). The testimony of high-profile sports people like Aaron Baddeley, Jason Stevens and Joey Peters and how they deal with the pressures of sport whilst maintaining a Christian witness is a great example to those who love sport, but are yet to engage with God’s Word.
With 2008 being an Olympic year with the Beijing Games taking centre stage in August, this DVD will enable Bible Society to challenge sports loving Australians to consider what the Bible says.
